Ongoing Training at OCN: How We Build High-Performance Teams

In a demanding sector like high-value construction, the quality of a project depends not only on the materials or the technology used. It depends, above all, on the people who deliver it. That is why, at OCN, ongoing training is not an add-on to the business: it is part of the method. Internal workshops designed by our talent development team, programs with leading institutions such as EDEM and technical training with BIM specialists form a learning ecosystem that supports our professionals at every stage of their development. A commitment recognized in 2025 with the CEPYME Award for Best SME in Spain in Job Creation and Talent Development.

Talent as a Competitive Advantage in Premium Construction

The construction industry has been undergoing transformation for years. Digitalization, the growing complexity of projects and an increasingly sophisticated developer client demand professionals who master both the most advanced technical tools and the skills needed to lead teams, negotiate successfully and communicate clearly. The projects OCN works on —high-value-added hotels, top-tier corporate spaces and Living projects (Build to Rent, Build to Sell and Build to Client) in the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands— leave no room for improvisation. They demand judgment, experience and the ability to make decisions in high-pressure environments. The training program we offer our team responds precisely to those needs.

Internal Workshops: Training Designed from Our Own Knowledge

Our talent development and training team designs and leads workshops specific to the company’s different areas. The advantage of internal training is its precision: the content is built on real situations from our projects, with the stakeholders and specific cases our professionals face day to day.

These workshops cover both technical skills —workflows, management tools, construction methodology— and soft skills: time management, productivity, teamwork and decision-making under pressure. This is not adapted generic training, but programs built from within.

Hard Skills: Technical Training for Projects with No Margin for Error

The implementation of BIM (Building Information Modeling) is one of OCN’s methodological pillars. So that its application is real and not cosmetic, we combine internal training with programs delivered by external specialists in BIM: from 3D modeling and model coordination to clash detection and the use of BIM in the building’s maintenance phases.

Each profile —site technicians, project managers, the estimating team— receives training tailored to their specific area. We don’t train for abstract knowledge, but for direct application on site.

Productivity and Digitalization

Improving personal and team productivity is another recurring training area. Advanced use of tracking tools, integrating the ERP into daily workflows and real-time visualization of site data are all topics in the internal training calendar. The goal is for every professional to have the resources they need to be more effective in their role.

Soft Skills with EDEM: When Academic Rigor Meets Practice

OCN maintains a stable training relationship with EDEM, one of the most prestigious business schools in Spain and a benchmark in the Valencian business ecosystem. Through this collaboration, our professionals gain access to programs and formats designed with the same level of rigor that we apply to the execution of our projects.

Communication: Speaking Clearly in Complex Environments

At OCN, we regularly work with hoteliers, developers, investors, architects and site teams. Each counterpart requires a different register. The communication training we run builds that ability to adapt: how to structure a message, how to run a meeting with multiple stakeholders, how to present to an investment committee with authority and precision.

Negotiation: From Theory to the Table

Negotiation is a skill exercised at every stage of a construction project —with suppliers, subcontractors and any counterpart in general—. The negotiation sessions start from real scenarios in the sector and work on both strategy and the psychology of negotiation: when to give way, when to hold firm and how to build agreements that sustain the relationship over the long term.

Leadership: The OCN Líder 360 Program

Leadership is the area with the greatest room for growth at OCN. The Líder 360 OCN program is our internal training initiative: a program designed to develop leaders capable of managing complex projects, mobilizing teams and making decisions with a strategic vision. The collaboration with EDEM on specific people management modules complements and enriches this program with external methodology and perspective.

A Recognized Learning Culture

In 2025, OCN was recognized by CEPYME as the Best SME in Spain for Job Creation and Talent Development. An award that reflects years of consistent work in the training, growth and retention of our team’s professionals.

Training is not an expense that is justified in good times. It is the investment that makes every project we deliver better than the last.

Ongoing Training as Part of The Way We Build

At OCN, The Way We Build doesn’t only describe how we execute projects. It also describes how we develop the people who make them possible. Ongoing training —technical and human, internal and external, individual and collective— is part of the standard we apply to everything we do.
