OCN wraps up its collaboration with EDEM’s EMBA with high-level proposals on people management

Last June, OCN opened its doors to students on EDEM’s Executive MBA. On July 4, the circle closed: six groups presented their proposals to the company, showing that managerial talent, when applied to real problems, produces solutions that go far beyond the academic exercise.

A real case, not a case study

As a member company of EDEM and recognized in 2025 by CEPYME as Spain’s Best SME for Job Creation and Talent Development, OCN agreed to take part in the EMBA’s People Management module with a clear premise: sharing its real situation, without filters. The challenges of a construction company undergoing multi-site expansion, with open questions about how to scale without losing its identity and how to build employee loyalty when teams are geographically dispersed. Two specific challenges shaped the students’ work: the organizational model for growing without losing values, and the employee value proposition strategy.

Talent in its purest form

On July 4, the six groups presented their work in twenty-minute sessions. Professionals from different fields who, despite not coming from the world of Human Resources, had tackled OCN’s challenges with unusual depth and rigor. The proposals were well-founded, the solutions creative, and defending their ideas under pressure showed work that went far beyond what was written on paper.

For OCN, the experience delivered a double benefit: enriching the training of future executives with a live business case, and receiving outside perspectives that prompt internal reflection. Because the knowledge that comes from experience has a value that can’t be learned from books, and the best ideas sometimes come from those who observe the company from the outside. OCN thanks EDEM, Sergio Soria, Tamara Solves, and all the EMBA students for their commitment, rigor, and the quality of their work.
