The Gandia City Council visits the Hotel Sofía construction site

The mayor of Gandía, Jose Manuel Prieto Part, and the Councillor for Tourism, Balbina Sendra Alcina, visited the Hotel Sofía this week together with developers Pablo Juan and Rafael Juan, following the start of construction.

The project, a 4-star boutique hotel in Gandía’s historic center, represents a private investment of over €6M and will be carried out by OCN.

The design, by Moratal Palomino Estudio de Arquitectura and Arista Grupo, has been conceived to blend into the heritage setting of the historic center, recovering characteristic elements of the original façade. In addition to the guest rooms, the building will feature a multipurpose space for events, business meetings, and professional conferences, expanding the city’s offering for business tourism.

A boost to urban tourism in Gandía

The mayor highlighted that Hotel Sofía will be the city’s second urban hotel, a key asset for reducing the seasonality of tourism in Gandía. He also praised the city council’s hotel urban-planning incentive, which has already mobilized more than €40M in private investment in the city — an example, according to Prieto, of how public-private collaboration accelerates the regeneration of historic centers.

Pablo Juan, for his part, stressed that this initiative reflects the developing family’s commitment to economic development and job creation in Gandía, as well as his satisfaction at seeing a project move forward that adds value to the city’s historic heritage.

Executed with the OCN Method

As the project’s construction company, at OCN we apply our OCN Method — Lean Construction, BIM, and Power BI — so that timeline and quality tracking is verifiable at every milestone, not just at the end of construction.
